Alexandru Flenchea: The Republic of Moldova cannot be a war target

The Republic of Moldova is not of interest to the Russian Federation and cannot be a target of war, the head of the delegation of the Republic of Moldova in the Joint Control Commission, Alexandru Flenchea, said on a private TV channel.

According to the official, the Republic of Moldova is a small country, in terms of area and population, and the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, has much bigger goals, despite this, he regularly sends messages of intimidation to Chisinau.

"Sometimes the messages are addressed directly to our authorities and in these cases, at least since the beginning of the war, but even before, they are messages of intimidation. Don't do that, behave as we tell you, don't look to the West. The Republic of Moldova, in itself, 33 thousand square kilometers and 2.6 million people, is not of any significant interest to Russia and cannot be a target in itself. But, obviously, the Republic of Moldova is targeted in politics and if not in the plans, then at least in Putin's visions", stated Flenchea.

Alexandru Flenchea also spoke about the talks between Chisinau and Tiraspol, stating that they have strengthened in the last year.
