Satoshi honored by the Government after Eurovision Song Contest 2026: “Moldova needs young people like him”

Vlad Sabajuc, known by the stage name Satoshi, received official praise for his performance at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu invited Satoshi to the Government building on Friday, May 22, highlighting the artist’s role in promoting the Republic of Moldova's image and strengthening ties with the diaspora.
“Through Viva, Moldova!, he managed to unite people at home and across the diaspora while presenting Europe with a sincere, courageous, and energetic image of Moldova,” said Alexandru Munteanu after his discussion with Satoshi.
The Prime Minister also stressed that the artist proved that “talent, hard work, and authenticity can help a country’s voice reach millions of people" and that the Republic of Moldova needs young people who believe in the country’s future and represent it abroad with dignity.
“Vlad, we are proud of you!” the Prime Minister told the singer, adding that his performance inspires a new generation to trust their own strength and dare to dream bigger.

We remind you that the Republic of Moldova placed 8th at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026. The song Viva, Moldova!, performed by Satoshi, received 43 points from the jury and 183 points from the public, for a total of 226 points.
This marks Moldova's fourth-best result in its 20 years of participation in the Eurovision Song Contest.
The country’s greatest successes came in 2017, when SunStroke Project finished in 3rd place with the hit Hey, Mamma!, in 2005, when Zdob și Zdub secured 6th place with Boonika bate toba, and in 2022, when Zdob și Zdub and Frații Advahov reached 7th place with Trenulețul.
