200,000 lei invested in new toy library in Grădinița village
Exciting opportunities for children in the village of Grădinița, Căușeni district. A toy library was inaugurated in the village, providing a space where children can play, learn new things, and engage in various educational activities.

Approximately 50 children from the commune will benefit from the toy library's services. They will have access to board games, books, and various educational and recreational materials. Guided by two educators, the children will also have the opportunity to complete their homework in a friendly, safe environment during the school year.
"If I come here, I will help the children learn something new. I will also learn new things, like how to do crafts," says a teenager.
"I came to interact with the children and find out what's new, as well as where to bring my granddaughter, who is little and will play with us", said another visitor.
"We are here to get to know each other, to be together, and to play. I really liked it here, and I want to come again", confessed another student.
Approximately 200,000 lei were invested in the establishment of this center. The funding was provided by the European Union, along with donations and contributions from project partners.
Stela Vasluian, the director of the “Amici dei bambini Moldova” Association, mentioned that after the village school was closed, the approximately 50 students were assigned to neighboring schools. Around 2:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., they returned to the community but did not have a welcoming space to spend their free time in an interesting and constructive way. This led to the idea of opening a toy library.
The day center is also equipped with a ludobus—a minibus filled with various games that will periodically visit neighboring localities, Leuntea and Valea Verde.
“We are implementing, with the support of the Delegation of the European Union, ten initiatives. We are creating development spaces in the form of a toy library and organizing systematic after-hours activities in schools and community centers. We also have initiatives planned for summer camps during the holiday period, and we hope to bring about change,” said Veronica Pelivan, coordinator of the “BOOST – A memorable extracurricular experience” project.
The project was launched last year and will run until 2028. During this period, 1.17 million euros will be invested in creating inclusive and equitable development opportunities for children.
