Anatoly Nosatyi: Military drones promised by Germany are being manufactured and will be delivered to Moldova in the near future
The military drones promised by Germany in October 2022 are in the process of manufacture and will be delivered to Moldova in the near future, Defense Minister Anatolie Nosatyi told Jurnal TV.
The government representative said that the National Army must be equipped in accordance with modern requirements.
"We have not received them, it follows, it confirms that the military equipment is intended for supporting Ukraine's defense capability. The drones intended for the Republic of Moldova are in the process of manufacture and will be delivered in the near future. We are also working on other programmes that will enable us to become better at this. I am referring to lessons learned that allow us to make rational use of the resources we have in order to be able to respond to threats," said Anatoly Nosatyi.
Military drones were promised to our country by Federal Minister of Defence Christine Lambrecht in autumn 2022 during the first official visit of a German Defence Minister to Chisinau, which took place in the context of the war in Ukraine.
Germany has so far provided defence assistance to Moldova, including the modernisation of armament depots and training of the military in areas such as logistics, military medicine, artillery and the development of the sergeant corps.
At the same time, the German Government has provided the National Army with 19 "Piranha-3" armoured personnel carriers, six of which arrived in the Republic of Moldova in January and February. The other technical units will be delivered during the course of this year.
In the same broadcast, Defence Minister Anatolie Nosatyi said that there are no direct military risks to Moldova.
