Over 560,000 Moldovans face daily vision problems

One in three Moldovans experiences vision difficulties in daily life, even with glasses or contact lenses. Mobility challenges are the second most common issue, significantly hindering activities like climbing stairs and walking.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), the 2024 Census revealed that over 560,000 people experience some form of vision difficulties. Among them, 140,000 individuals reported significant challenges in their daily activities due to visual disabilities.
Additionally, specific physical difficulties affecting mobility, such as walking or climbing stairs, impact 440,000 people who indicated experiencing significant or severe challenges.

Over 260,000 people experience various forms of hearing difficulties in their daily activities, while another 240,000 report challenges with memory and concentration.
