Energocom Trading will supply 618,438 MWh of gas to Termoelectrica for heat and power generation

Energocom Trading was awarded a contract to supply natural gas to Termoelectrica from October to November 2026, following a successful bid in an auction held on the Romanian Commodity Exchange EST platform.
According to the company, the estimated quantity to be supplied is 618,438 MWh, which is approximately equivalent to 58.6 million cubic meters of natural gas. This natural gas is intended for the production of thermal and electrical energy.
Of the total volume, 178,911 MWh will be delivered in October, and 439,527 MWh in November.
"This result consolidates Energocom Trading's leading position in the competitive natural gas market in the Republic of Moldova and confirms the company's ability to provide competitive and reliable solutions for industrial and institutional consumers," stated a company representative.
Energocom Trading SRL is entirely owned by Energocom and was established to participate in natural gas trading within the competitive market. In February 2026, the National Energy Regulatory Agency granted it a 25-year natural gas supply license.
In March, Energocom Trading completed its first transaction in the unregulated natural gas market after winning an auction organized by the Romanian Commodity Exchange – EST. From April 1 to May 1, 2026, the company delivered 212,352 MWh of natural gas to Termoelectrica.
In early July, Energocom, the state-owned company responsible for purchasing and supplying natural gas and electricity, announced that it had begun preparations for the 2026–2027 cold season.
To facilitate this, Energocom participated in the annual auction to reserve gas transmission capacity through the Ungheni interconnection point. This ensures the necessary logistics for supplying the Republic of Moldova from October 1, 2026, to September 30, 2027.
During the auction organized by the transmission system operators for the Ungheni direction—which involves the exit from the Transgaz network and entry into the Vestmoldtransgaz network—a total capacity of 57,436 MWh per day was available. Suppliers reserving capacity at this point secured approximately 41.37% of the total offered capacity.
Another auction focused on the Ungheni interconnection point as the entry point into the Republic of Moldova, where a capacity of 58,436 MWh per day was available for reservation. In this case, suppliers reserved 38.57% of the available capacity.
