Igor Dodon remains under judicial control until May 19

Socialist MP Igor Dodon remains under judicial control and, respectively, will not be able to leave the Republic of Moldova in the next 60 days. The decision was taken today by the magistrates of the Supreme Court of Justice, who ordered the extension of the preventive measure of arrest until May 19.

The former head of state qualified this decision as an illegal one and submitted a request to the court, through which he requested to be allowed to go, for a few days, on a pilgrimage to the monasteries on Mount Athos.

"I consider this ban illegal, because I have said it several times that I am not going to evade or run away from the country. Because I have nothing to fear and I have nothing to leave the country", declared Igor Dodon.

Igor Dodon is accused of claiming almost a million dollars from Vladimir Plahotniuc and Serghei Iaralov for promoting their interests.

Previously, several hearings in the "Black Bag" case were postponed.

Igor Dodon does not plead guilty.
