About 5% of energy-vulnerable domestic consumers will not receive compensation
About 5 percent of energy-vulnerable household consumers will not receive compensation for natural gas for the month of November according to the degree established by the Government, given the fact that errors were recorded in their allocation. The recalculation of the compensations for the month of November will be included in the month of December, the head of Moldovagaz, Vadim Ceban, told Radio Moldova.
"We will recalculate, already rectify the advance payments for December, the bill for which will be in January. We urge consumers to pay the bills. Later if there are certain questions with the level of vulnerability to be clarified. Possibly 5 percent will have errors in the bills. They will be corrected next month, all people will receive compensation", stated Vadim Ceban Contacted by phone to find out what solutions the Ministry of Labor has for the 5% of consumers whose degrees of vulnerability to natural gas are to be reviewed for the month of November, the head of the ministry's communication service, Diana Blanaru, said she would come up with a reaction.
Over 40,000 households out of the 695,000 registered on the compensatii.gov.md portal will receive higher compensations when paying bills, and the degree of vulnerability that was initially assigned to them will be recalculated. Following the analysis of the processed data, it was established that a certain category of consumers have a history of energy consumption that does not allow the correct estimation of their energy vulnerability. In order to correct these situations, a minimum level of energy cost was established used in the calculation of the degree of vulnerability for all consumers. Marcel Spatari, the Minister of Labor and Social Protection, informed that in November, 80% of households received a very high degree of vulnerability, and they will be compensated up to 59% of the amount of the natural gas bill and around 50% of the amount of the central heating bill. Another 11% of applicants were assigned high vulnerability, 5% of applicants received medium vulnerability, and 3% low vulnerability. Only 1% of the number of consumers registered on the compensatii.gov.md portal were classified as non-vulnerable and will not benefit from compensation.
