The train running on the route Chisinau – Iași in flames. 70 people evacuated
A fire broke out this morning at the railway station in Sipoteni, Călărași district. The fire involved the engine section of the train stationed at the station, which was running on the route Chisinau - Iași (Socola). Railway employees evacuated more than 70 people from inside the train.
No casualties were reported. According to the firemen, the fire was extinguished at 11:44 a.m., and the train carriages were not affected. The cause and circumstances of the fire are to be determined. According to IGSU, in the last 24 hours rescuers and firefighters intervened in 33 risky situations.
