Alexandr Stoianoglo demands the resignation of the Minister of Justice and the members of the CSP

The suspended General Prosecutor Alexandr Stoianoglo, accused on five charges, demanded the resignation and criminal investigation of the Minister of Justice Sergiu Litvinenco and the members of the Superior Council of Prosecutors (CSP). Alexandr Stoianoglo claims that the cases filed against him and his colleagues are fabricated and politically motivated. On the other hand, the Ministry of Justice considers the statements of the suspended prosecutor "a defense strategy".

Alexandr Stoianoglo states that the so-called evaluation of the general prosecutor is nothing more than a well-directed scenario. The purpose of these actions was to remove him from office, by any means and at any cost. Also, Alexandr Stoianoglo states that no evidence was brought to prove that he was involved in the commission of crimes, of which he is accused, and the entire trial in which he is being tried is staged. Alexandr Stoianoglo also stated that his lawyer filed a complaint with the General Prosecutor's Office today, requesting the resignation of the Minister of Justice Sergiu Litvinenco and the members of the Superior Council of Prosecutors. They, in his opinion, would be involved in the illegal actions by which he was suspended from the position of general prosecutor, by falsifying the procedures for evaluating his performances. "A year ago I presented more evidence obtained with the support of Europol that exposed the plot by several politicians, representatives of the non-governmental sector of the diplomatic corps and former prosecutors from the captured state period to remove me from office," said Alexandr Stoianoglo. Requested by Radio Moldova, the Ministry of Justice said that it does not comment on the statements of the suspended general prosecutor Alexandr Stoianoglo, who, as is known, is being investigated on several charges, including his release from prison and suspicious links with the leader of an oligarchic group. According to the ministry, Alexandr Stoianoglo's statements today are probably a defense strategy. We remind you that previously the Performance Evaluation Commission of the suspended general prosecutor classified the performances of Alexandr Stoianoglo as unsatisfactory. On May 13, the Superior Council of Prosecutors (CSP) received the performance evaluation report of the suspended general prosecutor Alexandr Stoianoglo. Based on the assessment, President Maia Sandu was supposed to sign the resignation decree, but the head of state declared that she would not sign anything until the courts decide whether Alexandr Stoianoglo is right or not.
