The Republic of Moldova has received a new donation of medical equipment for the Emergency Service from the US Government and the World Health Organization, amounting to $400,000 . US Ambassador to Moldova Kent Longsdon said that the donation will play an important role in providing quality services for both the citizens of our country and Ukrainian refugees. The equipment will be distributed to 18 hospital institutions.
Moldova's health care system has been supplemented with a new batch of medical equipment, including ventilators, oxygen monitors and ultrasound machines worth $400,000, US Ambassador to Moldova Kent Longsdon announced at the donation event.
"The equipment provided will play an important role in supporting refugees and Moldovan citizens. The United States is proud to have funded several health care projects throughout Moldova to expand access to these services for everyone," said U.S. Ambassador to Moldova Kent Longsdon.
The Secretary of State of the Ministry of Health, Ion Prisăcaru, said the medical devices are extremely important for the teams on the ground and providing medical first aid. He also announced that the equipment will be distributed to 18 hospital institutions.
"This was an extremely important batch of medical equipment and type C and type B ambulances, which most often reach a patient in serious condition. The first ambulance arrives and has the possibility to provide a more advanced service right at the scene of the request or during transport to a specialised medical institution. Much of this equipment will also go to 18 hospital institutions," said Ion Prisăcaru.
The medical equipment was purchased by the WHO with financial support from the United States of America.
