Maia Sandu's message on Europe Day: I am convinced that one day we will celebrate it as a full EU member

This is the first year that we are celebrating Europe Day as a candidate country for accession to the European Union and I am convinced that one day we will celebrate Europe Day as a full member of this great family. The statement was made by President Maia Sandu in her congratulatory message on Europe Day.

President Maia Sandu stressed that Europe has united to prevent wars and ensure the right to life and happiness for all European citizens.

"Today we celebrate peace and the unity of the European family. This is the first year that we celebrate Europe Day as a candidate country for accession to the European Union and I am convinced that one day we will celebrate Europe Day as a full member of this great family. Europe came together to prevent wars and to ensure the right to life and happiness for all European citizens. Now Europe unites us - all the people of Moldova - to earn our rightful place among European countries. Moldova will strengthen and enrich the European Union. Happy birthday, Europe! Happy birthday, European Moldova ", said Maia Sandu.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Nicu Popescu, also sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of Europe Day and the day when we commemorate the fallen of the Second World War. He wrote on his Facebook page that on Europe Day we remember the fallen of the Second World War.

"Unfortunately, 78 years after the Allies brought peace to the European continent, the Russian Federation has brought war back to Europe, defying both international law and the memory of those who fought in World War II for peace and defeated Nazism, " the minister said.

Nicu Popescu reiterated that our country strongly condemns any aggressive action and we want to stress the importance of peace and international cooperation in promoting prosperity and stability throughout Europe.
