Maia Sandu: International partners will provide us with the necessary support to strengthen economic, political and social resilience
International partners are willing to provide the Republic of Moldova with the necessary support to strengthen its economic, political and social resilience, says President Maia Sandu, after the visits made to Canada, Chicago and Iceland, where she participated in the summit of the Council of Europe in Reykjavik.
During a program on Moldova 1 TV, the head of state emphasized the openness of the international community to participate in the European Political Community Summit, which will be held in Chisinau on June 1.
According to the president, this fact represents a strong sign of solidarity.
"They are willing and we see this every day. Step by step we are expanding these partnerships and strengthening the ties between our countries. Investments, possibly increasing exports of the Republic of Moldova to these countries, participation in regional and international projects - these are concrete results of foreign policy. We have a lot of evidence of openness from the international community, including in 2 weeks in Chisinau we will host a summit attended by 50 heads of state and government, an additional proof of the trust enjoyed by the Republic of Moldova and a strong sign of solidarity. They trust that they can come here to discuss important topics for our continent and for the Republic of Moldova", said Maia Sandu.
We remind you that on June 1, about 50 heads of state and government, as well as leaders of the European Union, are expected in Chisinau. During the second Summit of the European Political Community, which will be held in Bulboaca, officials will discuss joint efforts for peace, in the context of the war in Ukraine and related crises, the defense of democracy, the strengthening of energy security and the resilience of European states.
