The funds offered to the Republic of Moldova by international partners: Where will the money be distributed
Most of the financial funds offered to the Republic of Moldova by international partners are already provided for in the state budget for 2023, says the Minister of Finance, Veronica Sirețeanu.
During a show on Rlive, the official said that this money, according to the budget, is allocated for salary expenses, pensions and other investment projects regarding the development of the country.
The explanations were made in the context in which the European Council announced that it increased the macro-financial assistance for the Republic of Moldova, from 145 to 295 million euros.
"These funds that are already coming are part of the 2023 budget. For example, the money that was announced, but was not in the budget, is that 86 million dollars that came from the US Government exactly formed the basis for the realization of this rectifications that went not only to salary expenses, but for the increase of the road fund, the subsidy fund in agriculture, and for crediting small businesses. Those additional 145 million announced by the EU are actually already part of our budget. From this money, a large part will go to some investment projects that are carried out at the state level", declared the Minister of Finance.
We remind you that, yesterday, the European Council approved the increase of macro-financial assistance for the Republic of Moldova, from 145 to 295 million euros. According to the European institution, of this amount, 75 million are in the form of grants.
