The head of the EU delegation noted that yesterday our country "really was the centre of Europe".

"Fifty European leaders, including the four most senior EU officials, made themselves at home in Bulboaca. I heard from several of them great admiration for the smooth organisation of the event. The impeccably organised European Political Community Summit showed once again that Moldova is a European country that can do things to the highest standards. We saw in practice the determination and focus of everyone to ensure a perfect event.

I would like to thank all those involved in organising this important event, which will stand as a benchmark for future EPC summits. And I look forward to working together to bring Moldova closer to the EU. I am sure you will be as determined in your European integration work as you were in preparing for the EPC meeting," Janis Mazeiks wrote on Facebook.

On 1 June, the second European Political Community Summit was held in the Republic of Moldova, attended by about 50 European presidents, prime ministers and officials. They discussed common efforts for peace in the context of the war in Ukraine and related crises, the defence of democracy, the strengthening of energy security and the resilience of European states. The next meetings, after the one hosted by our country, will take place in Spain and then in the UK.
