A team of Moldovan rescuers will go to Nova Kahovka, says Dorin Recean
A team of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) will go to Nova Kahovka, Ukraine to help the victims. The statement was made for Radio Moldova by Prime Minister Dorin Recean.
"Firefighters and rescuers are now in the process of preparing a team to go there and to help the Ukrainian side, with equipment, but also with human resources, to participate in rescue operations," noted Dorin Recean.
We remind you that on Monday, the dam across the Dnieper at Nova Kahovka in the Kherson region was blown up. Ukrainians and Russians blame each other for its destruction.
According to the Ukrainian authorities, 80 localities have been affected by the disaster, as a result of which hundreds of thousands of people will remain without access to drinking water and at least half a million hectares of fertile land are exposed to desertification.
