Igor Grosu, on relations with Comrat authorities: we will cooperate only institutionally, within legal limits
Cooperation with the authorities in ATU Gagauzia will be pragmatic and in accordance with the law, said Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu. He noted that he will only cooperate with those who have dissociated themselves from criminal groups and will not have any cooperation with the representative of a party declared unconstitutional. At the same time, opposition MPs believe that the dialogue between Chisinau and Comrat is not effective, and the absence of representatives of the central authorities from the Bashkan's inauguration is a sign that there is no desire to cooperate with the Gagauz administration.
The Chisinau authorities will not cooperate with the representative of a party that has been declared unconstitutional, Igor Grosu, the chairman of the legislature, told Radio Moldova. According to the official, cooperation and dialogue can only take place with those who do not defend the interests of criminals.
"A very pragmatic cooperation within the law, but not with bandits. With a representative of an unconstitutional party that is an organized criminal group, we will only cooperate institutionally within the strict limits of the law."
On the other hand, Grigore Novac, a member of the Communist and Socialist Bloc, said that the non-participation of the Chisinau authorities in the Bashkan's swearing-in, which took place yesterday in Comrat, was a sign of unwillingness to cooperate with the Gagauz administration.
"I hope that a political fight will not break out between Chisinau and Comrat. Nobody has anything to gain, only the citizens of this country, especially those of the Gagauz autonomy, have something to lose".
The relations between Chisinau and Comrat are not the best, as demonstrated by the lines between former Gagauz Bashkan Irina Vlah and Prime Minister Dorin Recean during the government meetings. Asked yesterday by the press why Dorin Recean did not attend the event for the swearing-in of Evgenia Guțul as Bashkan, government spokesman Daniel Voda stressed that the Prime Minister had more priority events on his agenda.
