A team of German experts in the field of transport of dangerous goods and stockpile management of armaments and ammunition paid a working visit to units of the National Army. The purpose of the visit was to assess the regulations on the transport of dangerous goods, implement best practices on the management of stocks of weapons and ammunition, advise those responsible for transport and exchange experience in the field of legislation on dangerous goods, said Colonel Ilie Lungu.
The parties also discussed possibilities for German assistance to reduce risks where ammunition is stored and during the transport of dangerous goods on national roads.
Since 2018, the National Army has benefited from the support of the German side in the implementation of capability development projects for the safe transportation, maintenance and storage of ammunition and dangerous goods, through donations of military equipment and technique, training and expertise in the field, amounting to about 2.8 million euros.
