Kazakhstan's General Prosecutor's Office proposes banning goods with "ethno-politicised symbols".

"In 2022, in connection with the outbreak of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict in Kazakhstan, situations in which Z or V symbols appear on clothes, toys and vehicles have become increasingly common" - the prosecutor's office said.

At the same time, the Kazakh authorities found that there are many advertisements and products in the country, including for children, with messages such as "Army of Russia" and others, which, according to law enforcement officials, cause an ambiguous reaction in society.

The prosecutor's office has therefore proposed that the government ban the manufacture, import, transport and distribution in Kazakhstan of products with symbols that are used "in armed conflicts, military or other violent actions against the sovereignty and political regime of another state".

The Kazakh prosecutor's office also proposes to introduce administrative liability for violating these bans.
