Wanted cheating couple caught in Croatia

A young Styrian couple wanted by the Graz prosecutor’s office for attempted murder of a landlady in Linz has been arrested in Croatia. Authorities spokesperson Hansjörg Bacher confirmed on Saturday an online report from the APA’s “Kronenzeitung”.

The suspects, aged 16 and 17, are charged with driving the restaurant operator in Linz on Thursday, who wanted to prevent him from fleeing over an unpaid bill.

The young Styrian woman must have stepped on the gas when the landlady got in front of the car. The 41-year-old restaurant owner suffered life-threatening injuries. It was learned that the car, whose license plate number was learned, belonged to his 16-year-old mother.

The prosecutor’s office in Graz issued a European arrest warrant and handcuffs were clicked at a gas station in Croatia for two wanted teenagers from Styria. Bacher: “Croatian authorities now have to decide on extradition.” Usually, a translation of the arrest warrant is requested first, and the prosecutor explains the procedure.
