Romania to provide Moldova with €3 million for primary healthcare vehicles

The Romanian government has announced that it will provide Moldova with €3 million to purchase 200 primary healthcare vehicles. The vehicles will be used to transport patients to and from healthcare facilities, as well as to provide other essential services such as medical supplies and equipment.

"In the grant agreement between Romania and the Republic of Moldova, granted to the Republic of Moldova of 100 million euros in the second phase, there is also a health component. We have a project that the Government of the Republic of Moldova has approved. We are now waiting for the approval of the Romanian Government for three million euros, which involves the purchase of 200 primary health care machines. There are many such examples and we have a very good openness from our colleagues in Romania", explained Ion Prisăcaru.

At the end of June, the Romanian Government announced the release of the first tranche of the grant, worth a total of €100 million.

The agreement on the implementation of the technical and financial assistance programme between the Republic of Moldova and Romania, which provides for a grant amounting to €100 million, was signed on 11 February last year, when the joint meeting of the governments of Bucharest and Chisinau took place. The grant assistance will be provided over a period of seven years.
