Mircea Geoană: Today we do not see political conditions for a peace plan in Ukraine. No decision on Ukraine without Ukraine

Today we do not see political conditions for a peace plan in Ukraine, said in an interview for AGERPRES, Deputy Secretary General of NATO, Mircea Geoană. He claims that any plan to end the Russian-Ukrainian conflict must be based on the ten points proposed by the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.

"Wars are unpredictable by definition and today we don't see the political conditions for such a conversation starter. A basis for peace exists. There is President (Volodymyr) Zelensky's ten-point plan, which is valid. It has been shared and embraced by many countries, including those outside NATO, and that's why I think this represents a very, very good basis", said Mircea Geoană.

NATO's deputy secretary general said that President Biden has a formula that the North Atlantic organization embraces - "no decision on Ukraine without Ukraine."

" Ukraine is a sovereign state that we support, and only they will be able to define the contours of peace, when they believe it can be done, and we will continue to support them, because their cause is just and it is justified politically, strategically, legally, and morally, and we will continue to support Ukraine without being part of this conflict," said Mircea Geoană.
