Moldovan embassy works to evacuate citizens from Gaza
Over 600 passengers arrived on the Tel Aviv-Chisinau route between October 7-11, including 198 citizens of Moldova, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MAEIE).
MAEIE urged people who want to leave Israel to do so in the coming days, using the available commercial flights. The institution clarifies that the airport is operating normally, and commercial flights are still operational, with almost daily frequency.
The Embassy of Moldova in Israel is operating on high alert, providing only emergency consular services, such as issuing travel documents. Therefore, citizens are encouraged to register using a form. So far, 174 citizens have registered.
“The Embassy of Moldova in Tel Aviv maintains permanent contact with our citizens in the Gaza Strip and is working on viable evacuation options from the area. Given that the only available evacuation route is by land, through the Rafah crossing point on the border with Egypt, we are in contact with the Egyptian authorities,” MAEIE said.
In this context, the inter-institutional crisis cell, coordinated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, was activated at the government meeting today.
