Chisinau City Day marked today
Today, October 14, Chisinau City Day is celebrated, the day on which the old-style Orthodox Christians celebrate the Protection of the Mother of God. The municipality has prepared for citizens a varied cultural-artistic program, in the open air, to present the culture and beautiful attractions in the city.
According to the program of the event, local and Romanian artists will perform on the stage in the city center.
Also, on Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt boulevard, between Mitropolit G. Bănulescu-Bodoni str. and Vasile Alecsandri str., today and tomorrow, economic agents will be present with traditional dishes and local products, as well as craftsmen with their works.
The event will start with the laying of flowers at the Monument of the ruler Stephen the Great and Saint, and later the Liturgy will take place at the "Nativity of the Lord" Metropolitan Cathedral.
Starting at 11:00 a.m., the inauguration of the Chisinau City Day celebration will take place in the Great National Assembly Square involving Cristina Scarlat, "Doina" Academic Choir Chapel, Nicolae Gribincea and "Plăiesii", Maria Iliuț and "Crenguță de Iederă", "Romaniţa" ethno-folk ensemble, etc. From 11:45 – Folk ensamble "Ca la HRAM", Maria Iliuț and "Crenguță de Iederă", Nicolae Gribincea and "Plăiesii", the "Romaniţa" ethno-folk ensemble, folk dance collectives, etc.
14:00 - Musical entertainment "My city, beloved Chisinau...".
18:00 - Brass band concert "In town in Chisinau": Brass band (coordinator Veaceslav Veste), Choreography: "Romanița" ethno-folk ensemble and folk dance groups. 20:00 - "Zdob and Zdub".
20:45 - The municipal folk music orchestra conducted by the Advahov Brothers with Zinaida Julea, Adriana Ochișanu, Gabriel Nebunu, Maria Iliuț and "Crenguță de Iederă", the "Ștefan-Vodă" ethno-folk ensemble, etc.
Starting at 22:15, guests from Romania, the band "Holograf", will take the stage.
We remind that, in the central area of the city, on the segment of Vasile Alecsandri str. - Mitropolit Gavriil Bănulescu-Bodoni str., public transport will be suspended, Chisinau City Hall announced. Also, some public transport routes will change their itinerary.
