"This ensures the continuity of the rapid processing of people and means of transport, as well as the bilateral consolidation for the prevention and combating of cross-border crime," the Bucharest executive said.

The agreement between the governments of Romania and Moldova on coordinated border control at the Leușeni-Albița border crossing, on the entry side into Romania, was initiated out of the need for both states to have new and complex mechanisms to ensure border security and to withstand the challenges posed by the war.
