Ministry of the Environment and the Environment Agency announce that there is a high level of air pollution in Chisinau

The Ministry of the Environment and the Environment Agency warn of the high level of air pollution. Thus, the authorities announce that on December 23 and 24 in Chisinau, the daily average was exceeded by 2.4 times for atmospheric pollutants.

This significant exceedance was conditioned both by weather conditions and by the high level of road traffic, smoke and soot from heating homes. The Environment Agency is on the alert regarding exceeding the pollutants in the air. At the moment, solutions are being sought to reduce the level of atmospheric air pollution. In the opinion of the director of the Environment Agency, Mr. Gîlcă, it is necessary to involve police officers in order to streamline road traffic by redirecting it from the most congested streets of Chisinau. The Environment Agency reminds that, in case of unfavorable weather conditions, the economic agents who are the biggest polluters, are obliged to switch to a reduced working regime, in order to reduce pollution.
