According to the study, "Citizens' perception of the mechanism for compensating energy costs for the cold period of the year," about 49% of respondents said they agree fully or mostly that thanks to external assistance, the country is developing despite the war in Ukraine. More than 41% of those surveyed agree to a large extent that the country needs external financial assistance, and 63% say that without the financial assistance of external partners, Moldova will not advance, commented Vadim Pistrinciuc, executive director of the Institute for Strategic Initiatives.

"Whether it is repayable or non-repayable assistance, grants or loans, people are looking for information and are interested. In general, people understand very well that they cannot develop without money from outside, and in the difficult times in which we find ourselves, now that there is also the war and which is affecting the economy of the whole of Europe, so people appreciate this, whether in general, they see very clearly that the difference in development between Moldova at the moment and what people want to happen cannot be overcome without this support from outside."

The data also reveals that television is the main source from which citizens are informed about the financial assistance offered by external partners.

It is worth noting that the study was conducted by iData on a sample of 1,130 people over the age of 18. The data was collected face-to-face in the period August 16-September 5 in 72 selected localities, and the margin of error is approximately 3%.
