Volodymyr Zelenskiy is to participate in the teleconference of the G7 leaders today
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is to participate today in the beginning of a teleconference between the leaders of the G7 countries, said the spokesman of the Japanese government, Hirokazu Matsuno, reports Agerpres.ro.
On Tuesday, Volodymyr Zelenskiy unexpectedly canceled a planned appearance before the US Congress, where negotiations are strained over new US funds to help Ukraine in its war against Russia.
This teleconference will be held under the auspices of Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, the spokesman explained, as Japan holds the rotating presidency of the G7 this year. President "Zelenski will participate in the beginning" of this online summit, he said.
On this occasion, the G7 leaders will "discuss important topics for the international community, such as the situations in Ukraine and the Middle East," and also have an exchange of views on artificial intelligence, Hirokazu Matsuno added.
