Ukraine is waiting for the first tranche of the 18 billion euro aid promised by the EU
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Twitter on Monday, after a telephone conversation with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, that Ukraine is waiting to receive the first tranche of the aid in January 18 billion euros promised by the EU to this country to support its finances while the war with Russia continues, reports Agerpres.
"In my first conversation, this new year, with President Zelensky I conveyed my wholehearted support and best wishes for 2023 to the people of Ukraine," Ursula von der Leyen wrote on her channel.
Volodymyr Zelensky thanked Ursula von der Leyen for the support offered and added that they will jointly coordinate their steps for holding a Ukraine-EU summit.
