Christmas books light up libraries & hospitals in Moldova
In a heartwarming display of festive spirit, the Moldovan government has donated over 3,000 children's books to libraries and hospitals across the country through its "Library Under the Christmas Tree" initiative.
This project, launched as part of the broader "Come Home for Christmas" campaign, aims to nurture a love for reading and celebrate national culture among young Moldovans.
The initiative extends beyond book donations, offering unique literary experiences for students. High schoolers in the capital had the opportunity to meet and interact with renowned authors Oleg Serebrian and Cristina Bujor. These encounters provided students with valuable insights into the creative process and the power of storytelling.
"Meeting the authors and hearing about their inspirations was truly special," shared one student participant. "It made the stories we read come alive in a whole new way."
The "Library Under the Christmas Tree" initiative exemplifies the Moldovan government's commitment to fostering a love for reading and celebrating national heritage. With thousands of books finding their way to eager young readers, the project promises to enrich childhoods and cultivate a vibrant literary future in Moldova.
