Dan Perciun: Attracting foreign students to universities in the Republic of Moldova is a priority
Attracting foreign students to universities in the Republic of Moldova is a priority for the Ministry of Education this year. The relevant minister, Dan Perciun, declared at a press conference that the institution aims to integrate at least one thousand foreign students into the education process in the country, in the academic year 2024-2025.
About 1.2 million euros will be allocated for this purpose. The official said that the ministry will organize information missions in India to motivate young people to continue their studies in our country.
"We have to go to the countries where there is a market. We will go to India, most likely. We will have some missions. We have already started discussions with our ambassador in India so that we can attract as many foreign students as possible from these markets and India will be a priority market. We will develop a unique country brand, a web page for foreign students, where they can find out all the information about the Republic of Moldova and the opportunities we offer. We will finance the translation of a few specialties where we think we can attract foreign students and where we think there will be a demand", said Dan Perciun.
The Minister of Education said that free English language courses will be organized for university teachers, who will teach lessons to students from abroad.
We remind you that currently at least 5000 young people from different states are studying in the universities from the Republic of Moldova.
