Moldova's Schools Embrace EU with Activities, Competitions

Moldovan schools are buzzing with European vibes this week, hosting a variety of activities and competitions as part of "European Week," organised by the Ministry of Education and Research (MEC).

This initiative, running from February 5th to 9th, 2024, aims to educate and engage students about their country's EU integration journey.

Informing the Next Generation:

"The goal is to offer students diverse activities and events that help them understand the process of Moldova's integration into the European Union," stated the MEC in a press release. Interactive lessons, insightful guest speaker sessions, and engaging exhibits are just a few ways schools are enriching students' knowledge of the EU.

Expressing Creativity:

To encourage active participation, two competitions are open to students:

Rewarding Excellence:

The "Republican Center for Children and Youth ARTICO" will select the most compelling essays and drawings by February 20th. These winning works will be displayed on the official website European Moldova and showcased at a special exhibition at the Presidency, with the young artists themselves in attendance.

Building a European Future:

European Week underscores the importance of engaging young people in Moldova's EU aspirations. By providing them with information, encouraging participation, and recognizing their creativity, the initiative fosters a sense of ownership and connection to the country's European future.
