Chisinau Health Update: Pneumonia Cases Drop, Measles Concern

The epidemiological situation in the capital city of Chisinau is improving. Hospitalizations for pneumonia and bronchopneumonia decreased by 20% last week, said Vladimir Bolocan, deputy head of the city's health department. Two cases of measles have been confirmed.

“Starting next week, we may return municipal hospitals to full operating capacity regarding the epidemiological situation," Bolocan added. "Measles remains a concern. Vaccination is the only effective way to prevent this disease."

Last week, emergency departments in medical institutions registered over 3,000 visits, with 60% of cases resulting in hospitalisation.

Kogan was a citizen of both Israel and the Republic of Moldova and lived in the United Arab Emirates under Moldovan citizenship with resident status. Following the discovery of his lifeless body, three individuals were detained by the Emirati authorities.
