Siegfried Muresan: EU accession negotiations of Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova must take place by June 30
The European Commission's proposal to ensure a gradual integration of Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova into the single market will mean "total freedom of movement on the European market" for goods, capital, services and people, said MEP Siegfried Muresan in an interview for CaleaEuropeană. ro. According to him, the European Commission has recently completed the preparation of the negotiation framework, and the European Council is to examine and to approve the 30 chapters, so that the negotiation mandate can be approved in June.
"Our goal must be for this negotiation framework, basically the negotiation mandate, to be approved in June and the negotiations to begin. We believe that before the end of the Belgian presidency of the European Union, before June 30, these negotiations must take place. These are very important not only for Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova, but also for the European Union, because the accession negotiations mean the adaptation of the legislation of Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova to the European legislation and, in fact, it means the implementation of many reform measures, modernization measures . The more the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine modernize, the better for us – the European Union. In fact, these negotiations are the most complex tool we have to help, encourage, facilitate and implement the modernization of the Republic of Moldova. These negotiations must begin", said Muresan.
According to the MEP, people from the Republic of Moldova will not need work permits to work in the member states of the European Union, they will work based on the Moldovan passport. At the same time, producers will be able to export faster and cheaper to the countries of the EU bloc, without limits, barriers and quotas, said Siegfried Muresan.
