Italian president will go to Bucharest after the visit to the Republic of Moldova
After his visit to the Republic of Moldova, the Italian president, Sergio Mattarella, will leave tomorrow for Romania, where he will be received by the president, Klaus Iohannis, at the Cotroceni Palace. According to a press release from the Presidential Administration in Bucharest, the official visit of the Italian president represents a continuation of the dialogue at the highest level, marked by the historic moment of the state visit that President Klaus Iohannis made to the Italian Republic in 2018, the first in the last 45 years.

This is the first official visit of an Italian president to our country, Italy being the sixth trade partner of the Republic of Moldova and the country that hosts the largest community of Moldovans in the diaspora.
In Chisinau, Italy and the Republic of Moldova signed a joint declaration in support of our country's accession to the European Union. The document was signed by the Deputy Prime Minister, Cristina Gherasimov, and the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Italian Republic, Edmondo Cirielli, in the context of the official visit to Chisinau by the leader from Rome, Sergio Matarella.
