Siegfried Mureșan: The European Parliament will remain a strong supporter of the European path of the Republic of Moldova
The European Parliament will remain a very strong supporter of the European path of the Republic of Moldova, Romanian MEP Siegfried Mureșan, deputy president of the European People's Party group, said on Radio Chisinau. He emphasized that, in the last three years since there has been a pro-European president and government in the Republic of Moldova, the European Parliament has quickly taken decisions in favor of the Republic of Moldova and things will remain the same in this new Legislative.
"Before the elections, we took all decisions regarding the Republic of Moldova with a majority of about 80 percent for, about 10 percent abstaining and 10 percent against. And those who voted against were people who did not believe in the European Union and voted against any proposal from the European Parliament, they had nothing against the Republic of Moldova. I am confident that in this Parliament too we will make the decisions for the Republic of Moldova with such majorities", said Siegfried Mureșan.
We remind you that, between June 6-9, the European Parliament elections took place, and the provisional results show that most deputies in this Parliament will be from the European People's Party, the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats, the Group of European Conservatives and Reformists and Renew Europe.
