The Republic of Moldova will receive 160 million dollars from the IMF for resilience and sustainability
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) will grant the Republic of Moldova a financial assistance of about 160 million dollars through the Resilience and Sustainability Facility. The draft law on raising the loan was voted by the Parliament.
It is about the amount of 129.375 million special drawing rights, the equivalent of about 160 million dollars. The money will be used to finance the needs of the state budget.
The loan will be granted for a period of 20 years, and in order to attract it, the Republic of Moldova must implement 12 reform measures in order to reduce the effects of climate change.
The Resilience and Sustainability Facility program will support the Republic of Moldova's efforts to increase resilience to climate shocks, to implement reforms in the energy sector and to ensure the mobilization of sustainable financing.
