The Republic of Moldova, Romania and Ukraine will sign a memorandum on disinformation
The Republic of Moldova, Romania and Ukraine will sign on Friday, in Chisinau, a memorandum on combating disinformation, during the third trilateral meeting at the level of foreign ministries. The event is hosted by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, Mihai Popșoi, which will also be attended by the Foreign Minister of Romania, Luminița Odobescu, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmitro Kuleba.
The spokeswoman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE), Liliana Barbăroșie, emphasized the importance of this memorandum in an interview for Radio Moldova.
"The theme is an important point on the discussion agenda. The general idea of this memorandum is to reduce the impact of manipulation, by building resilient information ecosystems and exchanging practices in combating disinformation," explained Barbaroșie.
The MFA spokeswoman also said that several key topics will be addressed during the meeting, including the expansion of electricity connections and alternative routes for gas. The Minister of Energy from Chisinau, Victor Parlicov, will also participate in the discussions.
Concrete energy projects will also be discussed, including connecting energy networks and increasing electricity production.
