Moscow's response to the ninth package of EU sanctions
Moscow responded to the ninth package of EU sanctions by banning a number of high-ranking European officials from entering the country, BBC writes.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the measures affected the heads of EU security agencies and directors of state and commercial companies that produce and supply weapons and military equipment to Kiev. A number of European citizens whom Moscow accuses of "systematic public rhetoric against Russia" have also been banned from entering Russia. In particular, it was stated that the list includes "certain members of the European Parliament".
However, the full list of people who are now banned from entering Russia is not attached to the text of the statement.
The ninth EU sanctions package was published and came into force on 16 December. It expanded the list of aviation products whose export to Russia is prohibited: aircraft engines and their parts, both for manned and unmanned aircraft.
