Moldova divided: 55% back EU membership, 37% oppose
Over 55% of citizens in the Republic of Moldova would vote in favour of the country joining the European Union.
Conversely, nearly 37% would vote against the Republic of Moldova's membership in the European Union. These are the findings of the most recent survey, presented on September 3 by the sociological company "Intelligent Data" (iData).
According to the iData survey, President Maia Sandu remains the favoured candidate among Moldovans. If the presidential election were held next Sunday, 27.5% of citizens would vote for Maia Sandu. She is followed by Renato Usatîi, leader of Our Party, with 11.6% of the vote, and former General Prosecutor Alexandr Stoianoglo, with 11.4%.
