Debate between Maia Sandu and Alexandr Stoianoglo could take place this week, on a "neutral" platform

The electoral debate between the winners of the first round of the presidential elections, Maia Sandu and Alexandr Stoianoglo, could take place this week, but not on a TV platform. The electoral staffs of the two candidates reached an agreement regarding the conditions for the debate, including the moderator, proposed by Stoianoglo's team. The information was communicated by Adrian Bălutel, member of the electoral staff of the candidate Maia Sandu.

Băluțel said that the team of the candidate of the Action and Solidarity Party proposed that the debate take place this Thursday or Friday, so that during the weekend the candidates have time to go, in the districts, to meetings with the voters. Another proposal by Maia Sandu's team, that of holding the debate in the studio of the National Public Broadcaster, was rejected by the opponent's team, which proposed holding the event on a "neutral" platform, outside TV.

Adrian Bălutel explained that the proposal was accepted to ensure the organization of the debate soon. "Our goal is for the debate to happen soon, so that citizens have the opportunity to compare the visions of the candidates before the elections," said Băluțel.

Other technical and organizational details, including the location of the event, are still being discussed by the two political camps.
