A new 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck central Turkey
A new earthquake with a magnitude of 7.7 degrees on the Richter scale occurred in Turkey on Monday, at 1:25 p.m. local time, CNN Turk reports. The earthquake was felt in many cities in Turkey.
According to the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center, the magnitude was 7.7. USGS estimates the magnitude at 7.5.
The earthquake occurred at a depth of 2 kilometers, 67 km NNE of Kahramanmaraș and 7 km SSE of Elbistan.
According to Al Jazeera, quoted by RBC, the earthquake was also felt in the Syrian capital Damascus, Latakia province.
