The opinion of the Venice Commission regarding the draft law from the Republic of Moldova intended for economic and political influence

The Venice Commission has made public its interim opinion on the draft law of the Republic of Moldova intended to limit excessive economic and political influence in public life (de-oligarchization).

The constitutional experts of the Council of Europe recommend that the authorities in Chisinau adopt systemic reforms rather than targeting specific individuals, in order to achieve "de-oligarchization", informs a press release from the Council of Europe.

Moreover, the Commission welcomed the intention of the authorities of the Republic of Moldova to present a revised draft law that takes into account some of its recommendations. The statement of the Council of Europe also states that the elimination of such excessive private influence in economic, political and public life is a new and very complex problem.
