Village in Calarasi has improved with better roads, lighting, and sewage

In recent years, the village of Vălcineț in the Călărași district has undergone noticeable changes. The roads have been repaired, and the lighting and sewage networks have been expanded. Additionally, new areas for children and community events have been developed in the village center. These improvements were funded through government and European projects.

The most noticeable change is the roads. Sidewalks and parking lots have been added, and public spaces have been organized.

"It’s beautiful compared to how it used to be. Before, it was very difficult to walk through the mud when it rained in the spring and autumn. It wasn’t good at all."

"Every time we pass by, I notice what has been done and how it was done. This is a village in the middle of the forest. A sewage system has been installed, and many previously inaccessible roads in the village have been repaired. It used to be an extraordinary mess of mud. Now it’s a pleasure to walk on the roads."

The center of the village has undergone modernization, particularly around the Cultural Center. The area now spans almost 3,500 square meters and includes new alleys, playgrounds, benches, a parking lot, sanitary facilities, and a summer stage.

"The total cost of this project is 5,371,000 lei. The National Office for Regional and Local Development provided funding of 5,313,000 lei, while the local public administration contributed 58,444 lei," stated Ion Sili, the mayor of Vălcineț.

The Government Program "Europe is Close" is funding the construction of an access road to the cemetery and the Hâlboc tourist area, with a project budget of nearly five million lei.

Additionally, a volunteer fire station is being established in the locality, and the sewage network is being expanded.

Once the construction is completed, approximately 200 families will be connected to the sewage system.
