The minimum wage in the Republic of Moldova would increase to 4,000 lei
The minimum wage in the Republic of Moldova will increase to 4,000 lei, starting from the first of January next year, Vasile Cușca, the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection told the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
"Following the consultations and discussions between the Government and the National Federation of Trade Unions, the National Federation of Employers did not reach a common position on this subject. Taking into account that the increase in the budget sector depends on the sources available at the state budget, it is proposed that from January 1, 2023, the value of the country's minimum wage should be four thousand lei per month for a full work schedule. According to the estimated calculations, in 2023, additional financial means from the state budget of around 285 million lei are needed", said Vasile Cușca.
TRM.MD recalls that currently the minimum wage in the Republic of Moldova is 3,500 lei and is applied both in the budgetary and in the real sector.
