Olaf Scholz claims that China's president should talk not only to Vladimir Putin, but also to Volodymyr Zelensky
German Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz claims that the President of China should talk not only with the Head of State of the Russian Federation, but also with the President of Ukraine.
Olaf Scholz also reiterated that in his opinion "it is clear" that the basis for a fair peace agreement in Ukraine must be centered on the withdrawal of Russian troops. The German Chancellor again warned China against sending arms to Russia. That would be "a big mistake," he said. Senior European and US officials have said there is so far no evidence that such deliveries are organised. Chinese President Xi Jinping left Moscow on Wednesday after a three-day visit. He discussed the war in Ukraine and the expansion of bilateral trade relations with Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin.
