EU donates medical equipment worth over 11 million lei to hospitals in the Republic of Moldova
Regional and municipal hospitals will be equipped with new medical devices worth over 11 million lei with the support of the European Union and the World Health Organization. The donation will contribute to the improvement of the healthcare system in the Republic of Moldova to EU standards, said the Minister of Health, Ala Nemerenco.
"Here, this lot includes 40 emergency medical kits, 20 operating tables, 30 monitors for monitoring patients' vital functions and dozens of surgical lamps. They will all benefit from this, ot only the district hospital in Soroca, the district hospitals and the Republican Clinic hospital in Balti".
The Ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova, Jānis Mažeiks, stated during the donation event that this aid will reduce the effects of the coronavirus pandemic in the medical system.
"Our support for the health system continues in the post-pandemic period, 14 district hospitals and 6 national, republican, municipal hospitals will receive trauma kits and emergency surgery, the value of the equipment is 382 thousand euros". We remind you that at the end of last year, through a bill voted in two readings, the district hospitals came under the subordination of the Ministry of Health. The decision was aimed at improving the healthcare system in our country.
