Constantin Borosan: About nine percent of our country's electricity consumption can be provided from renewable sources

About nine percent of our country's electricity consumption can be provided from renewable sources, stated Constantin Borosan, State Secretary at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development.

According to him, more than 73 megawatts are generated by wind installations, about 60 photovoltaic installations, followed by hydraulic and biogas-based installations. In total, approximately 158 MW are generated from renewable resources.

Recently, the Energy Strategy of the Republic of Moldova until 2050 was presented. Among the proposed objectives are the increase of energy security, the development of competitive energy markets and regional integration, the promotion of energy efficiency, the development of sustainable renewable energy and consumer protection.
