The BCS has initiated a motion of censure against the Recean government. PAS: Those who have been in government so far are responsible for Moldova's vulnerability

The leaders of the Bloc of Communists and Socialists (BCS), Vladimir Voronin, Igor Dodon and Vlad Barîncea, announced today the initiation of a motion of censure against the government led by Dorin Recean. The opposition criticises high electricity and gas prices, low pensions and salaries, and the exodus of the population. Those who have been in government until now, including Igor Dodon, are directly responsible for the fact that Moldova is still a vulnerable country," said the spokeswoman of the PAS faction in parliament, Adriana Vlas, in reaction.

Today the Moldovan Parliament no longer represents the interests of citizens, and neither does the Moldovan Government, said BCS MP Vlad Batrâncea. According to him, the exodus of the population continues, state institutions remain without specialists and the country is heading towards bankruptcy.

"The massive exodus of the population continues, professional people are leaving the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education. The Republic of Moldova is at risk of bankruptcy. That is why the leadership of the Communist Party and the Socialist Party are here today to announce that we are initiating and preparing a censure motion against the Recean government. We believe that this government must go. The motion will be drafted by the opposition bloc in Parliament, with the involvement of extra-parliamentary parties, civil society and representatives of the Local Public Administration", said Vlad Bătrâncea.

Contacted by phone for a reaction, the Government spokesperson, Daniel Voda, referred us to the communicator of the PAS faction in Parliament, Adriana Vlas. She told Radio Moldova that those who have been in government so far, including Igor Dodon, are directly responsible for the fact that Moldova is still a vulnerable country.

Adriana Vlas added that what the government is doing today is to preserve peace and quiet, recover the economy, lay the foundations for energy independence and reform the justice system, so that citizens will never again be dependent on politicians.

This would be the first no-confidence motion against the Recean government and the second against the PAS-appointed executive.

Earlier, in September 2022, MPs from the Communist and Socialist Bloc tabled a motion of censure against the government led by Natalia Gavrilița, but it was not supported by the parliamentary majority. The government needs 51 votes to be dismissed, which the opposition does not have.
