Romania will establish the Institute for the Support of the Integration of the Republic of Moldova in the European Union
The Romanian Senate voted to establish an Institute for the Support of the Integration of the Republic of Moldova in the European Union, which will provide technical assistance to institutions and public authorities in Chisinau, during the accession negotiations to the EU bloc, reports Agerpres.
The management of the institute will be ensured by a council formed by the president, with the rank of secretary of state, and the vice president, with the rank of undersecretary of state, who will be appointed and dismissed by the vote of the majority of deputies and senators. The mandates of the two are for four years and can be renewed only once.
The legislative proposal will be debated by the Chamber of Deputies, the decision-making body in this case.
We remind that on November 8, the European Commission will present the report on the fulfillment of the nine conditionalities assumed by the Republic of Moldova. After the publication of the evaluation report by the European Commission, in December, the European Council will decide whether or not the Republic of Moldova will start accession negotiations to the European Union.
